TaxEase 2018 continuing education material is approved by the California Tax Education Council
(CTEC). TaxEase is an approved provider of CTEC, Provider 3064, and the IRS, Provider B8FQK .

and assume no responsibility for its use. The possibility of error in the text does exist; any significant
corrections to the text will be posted on our website. Throughout the publications we refer to many
reference websites, IRC Code, Tax Law Cases and IRS publications. All tax situations differ, we urge
you to do additional research and refer to many sources.

Course Update Policy: Tax Law is always changing. TaxEase endeavors to keep up by updating the
Update Section of our syllabus. We will do this whenever there is a significant change. If you already
purchased the course you will receive an email and all new information will be posted on the Update
Page of our website.

30 Day Refund Policy: TaxEase is confident that the student will find the information informative and
helpful to their practice. If the student wishes to return the product, a full refund will be issued within
30 days of the date ordered prior to submission for grading. No refunds for 2018 courses purchased
after December 31, 2018 will be issued.

Course Material:
All course material is available through our website or by phone. All courses must be paid for at the
time they are ordered. The exams are included in the course material, A current course TaxEase
Order Number is required in order for the student to login online or for paper exam grading to be
completed.

Course Exam:
The open book exam consists of multiple choice questions which are directly related to the course
material provided. A minimum score of 70% is required for successful completion. Pertaining to
bundled courses: Each section (Tax Law, Tax Update, Ethics, and CA Law) is graded separately and
each section requires a minimum score of 70%. Students my retake any exam at no additional cost if
they receive a failed score. Students may not retake an exam once successfully completed.

Students who purchase a bundled course must complete all sections of the paper exam before
submitting to TaxEase for grading.

TaxEase grading and reporting procedure:
    Online Exams: Exams will be graded by our online system at the time the each exam
    is completed. A certificate will be issued after each exam is successfully completed.
    TaxEase will monitor the system and report education hours for successfully completed
    exams to CTEC and the IRS within the time period required by each. Students may print
    their certificates directly from the online system.
    Faxed and Emailed Exams: TaxEase will grade all exams received in a timely manner.
    Continuing education hours for successfully completed exams will be reported to CTEC
    and the IRS within the time period required by each. TaxEase will email the student's
    certificate to them.
    Paper Certificates: TaxEase offers paper certificates $12. The certificate is printed on
    attractive certificate paper and mailed to the student.
    Evaluation of Course: In compliance with regulations we provide an evaluation form
    online. For students who fax or email their exams for grading, the paper evaluation may
    be completed and returned to TaxEase with the exam answer sheet. We rely on student
    assessments to improve the program for future participants.

It is the students responsibility to:
  • Provide their correct PTIN and CTEC number to TaxEase so that we can report their continuing
    education hours to the IRS and CTEC.
  • Renew their registration with CTEC:
  • CTEC begins their 2018/2019 registration cycle on August 1, 2018. The deadline for
    renewing is October 31, 2018.
  • CTEC's late renewal charge of $55 will be applied for those renewing after October 31,
              2018 and before January 16, 2019.
  • CTEC will not allow renewal registrations for 2018/2019 after January 15, 2019.
  • Renew their PTIN before January 1, 2019.
